The Design Gallery was established in October 2002 by John Masters and Chrissie
Painell in a beautiful gallery in Westerham, Kent. Trained in the Decorative Arts
1850 to 1950 at Sothebys Institute, London, John and Chrissie are acknowledged
specialists in Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts Movement, Aesthetic Movement
and Gothic Revival. They are consultants to Millers Antiques Price Guide and have
been writing a book on Art Deco. John is a former Treasurer to international banks
and Chrissie is a well-known magazine editor. She has written five books. Their
passion for these periods of progressive design has brought them clients from
all over the world. A large warehouse can be visited by appointment. Chrissie
also specialises in 19th and 20th century designer jewellery.
